Did You Know?
The incidence of throat cancer (also called oropharyngeal cancer) is increasing. Oral human papillomavirus (HPV) infection can cause some throat cancers. People living with HIV are at increased risk of throat cancer.
Can You Reduce Your Risk?
Talk with your doctor about the HPV vaccine that prevents the types of HPV infections that can cause oropharyngeal cancer.

UCSF is exploring the oral health experiences of people living with HIV

If you participate:

1. You will complete a short online questionnaire.

Questions will include demographics, health history, experiences living with HIV, knowledge about HPV, oral cancer and oropharyngeal cancer.

2. You will participate in a 1.5 - 2 hour focus group discussion

The discussion will focus on your experiences with oral health, accessing oral health care, barriers to recieving care, and if who you are may have impacted getting oral health care.

3. You will recieve $100 reimbursement for your time!

You'll recieve a cash stipend once all study activities are completed.
